Preparing the Excel spreadsheet for Mail Merge When you run a mail merge, your Excel file will get connected to your Word mail merge document, and Microsoft Word will be pulling the recipients' names, addresses and other details directly from your Excel worksheet. So, before starting the merge in Word, make sure your Excel file has all the information you want to include such as first names, last names, salutations, zip codes, addresses, etc. If you want to add more contacts or other information, you'd better make the changes or additions in your Excel sheet now before running the mail merge. Important things to check: • The columns in your Excel sheet should match the fields you want to use when doing a mail merge. For instance, if you want to address your readers by the first name, be sure to create separate columns for first and last names. If you want to sort the recipients by state or city, verify that you have a separate State or City column. • If your Excel file includes dates, times, currency values, or postal codes that begin or end in 0, see how to correctly. • If you create an Excel spreadsheet by importing information from a.csv or a.txt file, then use the Text Import Wizard, as explained in. • If you want to export Outlook contacts, the following article may be helpful -. If you are using Word 2013 or Word 2016, the steps will be exactly the same. • If you have already composed your letter, you can open an existing Word document, otherwise create a new one. • Choose what kind of merge you want to run. Switch to the Mailings tab > Start Mail Merge group, and select the mail merge type - letters, email messages, labels, envelopes or documents. We are choosing Letters. • Select the recipients. On the Mailings tab, click Select Recipients > Use Existing List. • Connect your Excel spreadsheet and Word document. By setting the connection between your Excel sheet and the Word document you ensure that your mail merge data source will be automatically updated each time you make changes to the Excel file that contains the recipients data. In the Select Data Source dialog, browse to your Excel sheet and click Open. If Word prompts you to select a table, do this and click OK. • If you want to include only some of your Excel entries, then click the Edit Recipient List button in the Start Mail Merge group. The Mail Merge Recipients dialog opens and you check or uncheck checkboxes to add or remove the recipients from the mail merge. Tip. You can also sort, filter and dedupe the recipients list as well as validate the email addresses by clicking the corresponding option under the Refine Recipients List section. Okay, we are finished with the recipients list and you are ready to start on the letter.

Am debating between a Mini and IMac. Thanks for any advice! You can even dual boot with windows if you felt like it. MMOs for Mac users? As a former PC user I played some MMOs such as Eve online and World of Warcraft, but since half a year I've been using the Mac and not the pc anymore. Can anyone tell me which MMOs are also available for the Mac? ![]() ![]() But if your primary goal is to play games why not just get a PC. Macs are way over priced a PC can do anything a mac can do plus play all the latest games. If you know anything about computers and viruses you can have a PC and never get one, Ive been virus free for years now. IMHO Macs are a ripoff you can build a PC with the same specs as a mac for less. I use music programs, I know people who edit and encode video and even do live djing with traktor live all on a PC and it works flawlessly. I really don't see why everyone uses a mac, I guess they are rich and have money to do so. But hey if your really want a mac then go for it, don't let me stop you. I currently have two Macs. One is an Intel iMac and the other is the Unibody MacBook Pro. If you are going to be doing some hardcore gaming, i.e. Downloading/installing games that take up a lot of memory, I would definitaly get the iMac. I am currently running Vista Home Premium through Boot Camp on my iMac, and I must say, it is awesome! (The Boot Camp is awesome) Once you get your Mac, the Boot Camp setup is straight forward. You slide a bar to select how much memory you want to give to Windows then, install Windows. The only draw-back to this is that you need to purchase your own version of Windows. It can be XP, Vista, or even Windows 7. For my MacBook Pro, I have run EVE on it, so even with 2 GB of RAM, it ran the game very easily, and with High Graphics also. I've played all of the MMOs in my sig on a Mac using Bootcamp except for WoW and EVE. WoW and EVE have Mac-native clients. They all ran well except for AoC, but that was on a few year old iMac. I've been running VG and Ryzom on my Macbook Pro using Bootcamp and the performance is really good. If you're concerned mainly about game performance, then I'd suggest not getting a Mac mini. And make sure the iMac has a decent GPU with at least 256 MB RAM. 512 preferably. If you're going to be using it as a gaming machine mainly, then I'd recommend not even getting a Mac. Be more creative and dangerous in 1v1 opportunities. • 1st Touch Control – A new system transforms the way players control the ball, eliminating near-perfect touch for every player, and creating more opportunities for defenders to capitalise on errant balls and poor touches to win back possession. |
